My Dear Sweet Bethany,
Today is your first day of school. When Daddy went in to wake you and your brother up this morning, you excitedly and repeatedly asked, "Is it time to go to school now?". You had a beautiful smile on your face and a great attitude all morning while getting ready. You were giddy and sweet, but a little sad that you wouldn't get to take a nap beside Josiah when the time came. My little girl, you are growing up. I can't believe in a few months you will be fine. I pray that this year is a great one for you. I pray that you enjoy your time at school and love to learn. I pray that you will be respectful and obedient to your teachers as we have taught you. We love you and can't wait to see you come home today and tell us about your day!
My Dear Josiah,
The first day of school is "old news" to you. You could write a book about what to do on the first day of school and include all of the times and dates of your previous school years. You were busy this morning telling Bethany not to cry and to have a good day. You were in such a good mood from the moment we woke you until the time you got on the bus. We had to walk in the rain down to your bus stop because for the first time in two years, the bus didn't pick you up in front of the house. You sweetly held that umbrella for you and your sister and walked confidently down the street. I love this confidence about you. My prayer for you is that you maintain this confidence even when you may be in difficult times. My prayer for you is to have wisdom to know how to act and be an example for other classmates around you. I pray that you have fun learning this year...as much fun as you had teaching yourself all of the Presidents, their birthdays and dates of death this summer. I can't wait to get you off the bus as well and hear how your day went and about all of your new friends!
